What we ask for, and why.
MUXWilliams, Inc. (“MUXWilliams,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides brand strategy, creative, production, and digital services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you visit our website, submit a project inquiry, or communicate with us about our services.
This policy covers our own website and business inquiries. Information we handle on a client’s behalf during an engagement may also be governed by a separate service agreement or data processing agreement.
- Project inquiries and correspondence
- When you submit our inquiry form, we collect your first and last name, email address, the organization you provide, your selected inquiry type, and the contents of your message. We may also record which page on our website directed you to the form. Follow-up correspondence may include additional contact information, project requirements, budget, or timing that you choose to share.
- We use this information to review your request, respond to you, assess whether our services are a fit, prepare proposals, and manage related business communications. Required fields help us understand and respond to your inquiry; the organization field is optional. Please avoid including passwords, payment details, sensitive personal information, or confidential project materials that are unnecessary for an initial discussion.
- Website operation and security
- Our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, request times, and error or security events. We use information of this kind to deliver the website, troubleshoot problems, and prevent spam, fraud, and misuse.
- Site usage
- We use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used: the pages viewed, how visitors arrive, and the browser and device type. Section 03 explains what that involves and how to opt out.
- Marketing communications
- Submitting a project inquiry does not automatically subscribe you to a marketing mailing list. If you separately subscribe to updates, we use your contact details to send those communications. You can unsubscribe using the instructions in a message or contact us to stop receiving marketing emails. We may still reply to your inquiries or send communications needed for an active engagement.
Who else sees it.
We disclose information to personnel and contractors who need it to handle your inquiry or support our business, and to providers supporting website hosting, security, form processing, email, internal communications, and record storage. These providers may process inquiry details and technical information as needed to perform their services for us.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, when required by law or valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect people, prevent fraud, or establish or defend legal rights. If our business is acquired, merged, or reorganized, relevant records may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
What we measure, and what we don’t.
We use Google Analytics to see how this site is used. It sets cookies and sends usage data to Google. We run no advertising, no session recording, and no tracking across other websites.
Google Analytics records the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a link on another site), how long you stay, and the type of browser, device and screen you use. It stores a random identifier in cookies on our domain whose names begin with _ga, so that repeat visits from the same browser count as one visitor. Those cookies last up to two years. Your IP address is sent to Google with each request; Google uses it to estimate a coarse location and states that it does not log or store the address itself.
Google LLC receives and processes this data on our behalf, in the United States and elsewhere Google operates, under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. Google explains what it collects from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We keep Google Analytics data about individual visits for 14 months, after which Google deletes it. Aggregate reports — totals that identify no one — may be kept longer.
We have turned off Google Analytics’ advertising features. We do not use Google Signals, remarketing, or demographic and interest reporting, and we do not share analytics data with Google for Google’s own advertising. We use the data to see which pages are read, where visitors come from, and whether the site is working — nothing else.
Google Analytics is the only third-party service embedded in our pages. The typefaces the site is set in are served from our own domain rather than from a font provider. Links to social platforms open those sites directly and do not load their content into ours.
The page that led you to our inquiry form may be included with your submission so we can understand the context of your request.
You can stop Google Analytics from running here in three ways. Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser: when either signal is present we do not load Google Analytics at all. Block cookies for this site in your browser settings. Or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. None of these affects the inquiry form.
How long we keep information.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. Relevant factors include whether an inquiry remains active, whether it leads to a client relationship, the need to maintain business records, and applicable legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-related requirements.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it, subject to applicable requirements and the normal lifecycle of backups. The same retention review applies to copies kept in our communication and storage systems.
Your privacy rights.
You can contact us to ask about personal information we hold about you or request that we review, correct, or delete it. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may also have rights to obtain a copy, request portability, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or opt out of certain uses or disclosures.
Send requests to legal@muxwilliams.com, use our contact form with “Privacy request” in your message, or write to the address below. We may need to verify your identity and, where relevant, an authorized representative’s authority before responding. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Some requests may be subject to lawful exceptions, including obligations to retain certain records.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. Where applicable, you may appeal a decision by contacting us and stating that you are requesting an appeal, or raise a concern with the appropriate privacy regulator.
How we protect information.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. Access is limited according to business need. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children’s privacy.
Our website and services are intended for business audiences and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.
Visitors outside the United States.
MUXWilliams is based in the United States. Personal information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy protections may differ from those in your location. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use the required safeguards.
Our website includes links to external websites and social platforms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review those policies before providing information through those services.
Changes to this policy.
We may revise this Privacy Policy as our website, services, or privacy practices change. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice, such as a prominent website notice or direct communication, where required by applicable law.
